My First Blog

This is what I look like. Pic taken at Rashtrapati Bhavan (Red eyes don't mean I smoke weed, it is because of camera effect.😛) First of all, I would like to tell you why I am here. In a world full of fake imaginations and envy, I am here to get some relief from the daily boring routine. It is enough to tell the reason of my such life is that I am an engineering student at IIT Delhi. Currently, I am at Jaipur, away from the daily world, and writing my first blog. It is not the first time when I am writing something. I used to write on Quora, but it used to be primarily on a particular topic. What should we write in our very first blog? A lot of people introduce themselves and discuss their daily life routines. Without trying anything different, let's begin. Hi everyone!!!👋 I am Manoj😊 with roots at Kuchaman City, Rajasthan, in western India. I matriculated from ABN sr. Sec. School in 2015 and passed the 12th standard from Navjeevan sr. Sec. School Sikar in 2017. (...

The Hidden Gem of Karnataka - Nandi Hills

Ok, so this is my first travel blog. I'm experimenting with this kind of blog, so don't expect much from my side. This is me with my goggles😎 I visited Nandi Hills when I was in Bangalore for my summer internship. It completely proves the theory that not all the best places are on the map. Nandi Hills is an ideal gateway for a temporary escape from the daily boring routine and have some fresh vibes (fresh air too). People visit here to see the best sunrise view of Bangalore. This place opens for visitors around 6AM. So it is important to leave for Nandi Hills on time.    Nandi Hills is around 70 KM away from Bangalore city. It is advisable to book a cab one day before. Otherwise, it might be difficult to book an Uber at night in Bangalore. I, with a bunch of my friends, left for Nandi Hills around 3 AM at night. We packed snacks, a good speaker, a jacket, a power bank, water bottles, and some dumb friends before leaving. We reached there around 5:30 morning and took a sip of ...

Weekend Pack #5: Bring some freshness in life

The weekend is here, and so is our weekend pack. This time, I bring you a comedy cum social awareness pack that you should surely consider watching with your family. This includes two movies: Dasvi and Mimi , both are good comedy-drama family movies with a taste of learning and awareness. Also, both movies are produced by Dinesh Vijan and are available on Netflix . Let's check it out:  Dasvi Don't know where to start but this movie is not just about humor , it also delivers a solid message to our society. The story revolves around a crooked yet witty politician Ganga Ram Chaudhary ( Abhishek Bachchan ), who is jailed under a tough superintendent Jyoti Deswal ( Yami Gautam ), and decides to spend his time studying for high school . It shows how he finds out the hard way that being good with people doesn't make you good with the syllabus of class 10th .  Dasvi is a proper family film which can be enjoyed with the whole family. Somewhere, you again go back to your memori...

#BabajiKaGyaan : Going to another relationship to get over someone

Aksar kya hota hai ki kuch logo ka nya nya breakup hota hai aur unse wo ekdum sudden wala loneliness jhela nahi jata. Aur loneliness ki had toh tab paar ho jati hai jab pta chalta hai ki tumhare saamne wale ne nya banda ya bandi pata li hai. Dil beth sa jata hai. Na toh padhai me man lagta hai aur na hi kuch aur karne me. haina! Toh uss situation me log dhundte hai ek kandha. han, ek shoulder jo tumhe sahara de uss situation me, yha tk koi dikkat nahi hai, sb kuch theek chal rha hota hai, lekin dikkat tab aati hai jab ek person usme pyaar dhundh le, haan, kuch feelings udhar se aayi, kuch feelings idhar se (idhar se toh aayengi hi, recently breakup hua hai, to kahi toh feelings lagani pdegi). Aur dono chutiye isko pyaar samajh bethte hai. Abhi kuch din pahle ek dost bta rha tha ki uski ek dost ne apni relationship se get over karne k liye dusri relationship start kar di. Aur hua yun ki since nyi relationship to sirf purani wali ko bhulane k liye thi, toh us chakkar me ek nyi relationsh...

Weekend Pack #4: OTT Pack for your Weekend

Weekend is here, so is our weekend pack. This time, I bring you an Over-the-top Weekend pack which you should surely consider watching. Let's check out the reviews: 1. Campus Diaries on MX Player: (A well-executed college Rom-Com drama series) Honestly, when I got to know about this series, I expected it to be a low-budget average series. But after watching this, I felt completely different. It is beautifully written, well-directed, and produced. The dialogue deliveries of all characters were better than expected. The story revolves around a small group of friends of an engineering college. That group covers all types of people in a college, like a nerd, a sexy and aggressive girl, a poltubaaz, a smoker, and a one-sided lover. Although you can not relate it to a real-life engineering college, it seems to be among a few series to show college life in such a beautiful way. The series is well executed. Many aspects of college life are covered. Such as ragging, crushing on someone, rel...

Toxic Positivity : Should we really care?

"Be positive yaar! Everything happens for a reason." Somebody said this to me when my great-grandmother passed away. (koi sense hai iss baat ki?🙂) I am talking about toxic positivity . Toxic positivity usually isn't intended to cause harm, but it dismisses emotions instead of affirming them. Often it happens in a situation when we want to help but don't know what to say to express it. I think it has increased during the pandemic hence now it is a topic we should focus on. Take toxic positivity as a false reassurance. Sometimes, people say no matter how dire or difficult a situation is, you should maintain a positive mindset. The "Good vibes only" mindset, you know! Yes, it's true that having a positive mindset on life is good for your mental well-being. But you should also know that life isn't always positive. Everyone in this world deal with painful emotions and experiences!! Sticky note pe ye mene nahi likha, photo google se uthayi hai🙈 Once...

Weekend Pack #3: Pack of Mystery Bollywood Movies

Feeling to watch some Bollywood movie with suspense, thriller, and mystery? Check out these two movies: 1. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy (2015): A Nice Detective Mystery Story The movie is based on a fictional character Byomkesh Bakshi an Indian-Bengali detective. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy is a well-scripted story with a lot of twists and thrillers. The film seems a bit slow sometimes, but overall it will let you stick with your seats. Storywise, the movie is excellent. I appreciate the efforts Dibakar Banerjee put in the making of such a thriller movie. We can't figure out who is the real culprit until the ending. The suspense it shows is impressive. The conspiracy starts with the disappearance of a chemist and ends with a series of new and unfolded conspiracies. Overall, it is a good suspense thriller Bollywood movie. The acting and the direction are pretty well. The locations and the scenes they showed in the movie are pretty perfect in such a way that you'll find yourself in ...

The Mind Game

What if you get rejected?? This was the question that was asked to me during the final round of an interview. But before going that, do you ever think that interviews are 70 % mind games ?  From predicting the interviewer's aspect while asking questions to setting up the answer according to which he wants to hear; everything is a mind game🧠. To even which question should come after, It's always mind over knowledge at all times. AND if you break the mind, you break the opponent . HRs have already learned this and they employ it as well on each and every candidate. until they face the ONE. The ONE who gets selected. During an interview, most people think that the interviewer is asking them the questions and they are simply giving the answers😐. But in fact, you are the one who decides which question should come next. You just need to read the interviewer's mind and act accordingly. And within minutes, ssssshhh, the interviewer is under your control . Don't you believ...

Weekend Pack #2: You've missed something if you didn't watch these gems

Humans have come this far away but there is one thing that always remains with them. This is their curiosity about a different world or their imaginary world. From the beginning, the human species tends to go far from the real world and enjoy some of their life moments in their imaginary world. That's the reason why movies and theatre came into existence. Basically, cinema is meant to bring people to a different world for a little moment where they can forget about their sorrows, life problems, etc, and can live some beautiful moments of imagination.  Uff, ignore the shit I wrote above, this blog is all about a list of a few movies to shuffle your heart and Netflix account. 1. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) : Great modern Bollywood Drama If you are in bad mood or worried about the future or overthinking, this movie is a perfect mood booster for you. You will find the best dialogues, romance, dance, songs, dedication and the true friendship of the modern era in the form of Karan Joh...

Some lost Friendships

After a long week, your exams are over. You're mindlessly scrolling your insta feed, and suddenly, you stop. You see a post of someone who was once really, really close to you. Now you start to scroll your memories with that person, but you realize that you have just grown apart. You remember how you used to do all bakchodis together. You just laugh at it and keep scrolling your memories. That one song always sticks with that person, and you are about to fall into nostalgia. But suddenly, this nostalgia turns into a sense of sadness. Try to remember the last time you saw them? How they used to sound? The last time when were you guys talked normally? There might be some incidents that separated both of you. But wait! you still remember some silly jokes on which you both used to laugh. A slight wave of thoughts comes into your mind saying how much you both knew about each other. Your dreams, your embarrassing moments, your crushes, everything suddenly starts roaming around you. Did y...

Weekend Pack #1: Ludo : A Metaphor of Life

I really appreciate Anurag Basu to create a movie full of different shades of lives and relationships. The way LUDO uses colors to represent various aspects of life is beyond imagination. The whole movie runs among 4 different stories, color-coded according to their shade of emotions. All stories are different but linked. Just like each ludo board house is represented by a different color, but collide in their own journey.  The movie begins with the story of Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sanya Malhotra as Akash and Shruti . The Yellow House represents their story associated with creativity, happiness, and living a life full of joy. Whereas the Red House shows the story of Abhishek Bachchan as Bittu and Mini. Red color represents the compatibility of Love and Anger. The father-like relationship between Bittu and Mini depicts the fact of the co-existence of two opposite characteristics. Bittu is angry with his current life, but he finds happiness with Mini. We can feel the love of a fath...

My one day crush

*one day crush, who is often found in marriage ceremonies Dear Unknown, Look! Yrr I don't even know your name. That feeling when I saw you the first time, dancing in a black saree. Believe me, you look so beautiful in that saree and that golden-colored pallu. Your dance was amazing, yrr how can you be so perfect on each song. You were the reason why I was roaming around DJ all the time. I became a caterer just to serve you a sweet si Kaju Katli. Chalo, iss bahane at least I heard your voice and talked to you the first time. Maybe you don't even remember this. But it was precious for me.  I had to come home bcoz of my assignment deadline but I was not gonna sleep without thinking about you. You were running in every corner of my mind.  I came out of my blanket, wore a jacket (winter! uff). And you were the only reason which pulled me back to that marriage ceremony at midnight 1AM. But it was not worthless. Finally, I got a glimpse when you were sitting near the groo...

#AajKaGyaan: Love and breakup vibes (Diwali special)

Bahot achha lagta hai jb bhi koi festival hota hai, ek alag enjoyment and excitement aur vo tab aur bhi badh jati hai jab hamari life me entry hoti hai kisi special person ki. Haan, I am talking about her. Sab kuch double saa ho jata hai, as we are excited for both now. Discussing your plans with her, what you did last year and she will tell you many stories related to this festival from her life and you'll do the same. Andar se ekdum Majnu Bhai wali feeling aa rhi hoti hai "Pyaar bhi naa bahut pyaara hota hai". Haan, to ab wo jayegi shopping krne aur tumhe itni importance degi ki trial room me pic click kr puchegi, "Baby ye wali jyada better hai ki wo?" Aur hum jisne bc aaj tak khud k kapde mummy ki pasand se pehane hai wo apna point of view dene lag jate hai ki "Aap isme jyada achhi lag rhi ho". aur fir mutual discussion k saath madam ji ki shopping hoti hai khatm. That Introvert Guy

College life begins. The very first day of college, shyness, and hesitation all around. He came in this world without watching all web series (Will this society accept him?) . He listens to his friends discussing Game of Thrones, Friends, Money Heist, Big Bang theory, etc. etc. That's the time when the first stage of appearing   FOMO . Bro! If you didn't watch Money Heist, you have seen nothing . He doesn't want to spend his 4 years of his college with this Fear of Missing Out. At this moment, an introvert person will always blame to being introverted. But soon, he realizes that it is not that bad. Even the fear of missing out departs from his life within 4-5 months. But he got to know the behavior of the world. An introvert person always thinks to be extrovert because he assumes that extrovert guys are the extraordinarily happy people on the earth. You call him introvert but, I call him a person with exceptional patience in listening to others like his own. He talks...

Learn to say 'NO'

Yes!! Saying 'no' is not that bad. We have always been taught to help someone and not move back because they think you can help them, and that's the biggest compliment anyone can offer to you. We should always be grateful to them. I always obeyed this and kept saying 'yes' . But excess of everything is terrible. Everything in excess is opposed to nature . You feel happy by seeing their grateful faces whenever you help them. But doesn't it mean that you are making them habituated to not work on their own? YES!! Sometimes it does. The thing about being the person who can't say 'no ' is that you are no longer doing someone a favor. They will push it on you like it's your job . And when you say 'no' the first time, you will suddenly feel like you become the bad guy. The fear of losing your friend will stick on your mind, and that will always force you to keep saying 'yes' . Now I am learning to say 'no' , and I am liking the...

Kota City : Where JEE is in the AIR.

First one is me!! It was April 30th, 2017, and I entered in that so called city of converting dreams to reality, Kota (Rajasthan). One of my school friends was with me. I was very excited about the dazzling of Kota city and a bit worried about my further days in this city. Well, first, let me tell you about my life before coming to Kota. I studied up to 10th class in a small town of Nagaur (Rajasthan). Then I went to Sikar (Another district of Rajasthan) for my further studies. Sikar contains a lot of memories of my life, but I'll share those on some other day. In short, I passed 12th class with a good rank in Rajasthan. So I was telling you about my life at Kota. I, with my friend Ankit, joined Resonance Institute and took a hostel on rent for one year. I don't know why, but my sleeping time increased drastically initially. But I controlled it, and it took 20-25 days to abandon this sleeping schedule and manage a new one. Later some of my school friends also took the train...

A letter to Papa

Dear Papa, Happy father's day papa, I want to talk to you. I mean, as I disappointed you many times in life, So I would like to say you a sorry, and all I want is just a hug for always being with me in every turn of my life. I understand that you have done a lot for me. This is not the single moment of my life, which reminds me of you. Our paths of career are different, but still, whenever I feel discouraged and sad, The only successful face that comes to my mind is you. You are my motivation. The amount of struggle you put for me, for our family is really appreciable. Thanks to this lockdown because of that I spent this much time with you. In Delhi, I missed talking to you, sitting with you. I know I have embarrassed you many times, I have not met your expectations many times, I have made you sad many times. But you always keep holding my hand. Thank you for converting me to be the person I am today. But I have a complaint about you. That's why I want to have a conversation ...

Trusting People too easily

You are not alone in this strange world who is bearing a syndrome of trusting people so quickly. It is not much distinctive from Stockholm syndrome, except the fact that you don't have any opinion about the other person. It will be your first week in college, and you will meet someone. You will think you are 'vibing' with them because everyone else does too.  This situation occurs when You think You know them but actually, You don't. Sometimes, you just sit down and think, how can you be so stupid? And sometimes be like, dude!!, They are my friend and har ek friend kameena hota hai,   so you shouldn't behave like this. It can be that best friend who leaked all your secrets to someone else. It can be your friend who made fun of your weaknesses behind your back. The fact is that you were with them whenever they needed you, but there is no return policy. The point is, you trusted them enough to tell them things, which were your weakness, and this bit you in the back. H...

Dear Berlin From Money Heist

Dear Berlin, In the beginning, I never thought of putting the "Dear" in front of your name. But you earned it by presenting yourself weaponless in front of the snipers.   I uncovered a lot of things from you. No other in-charge can substitute you in any heist. The way you tackled all the worse situations is much appreciable. I am in love with your leadership qualities. The moment when Tokyo played Russian Roulette, even your haters will appreciate your courage. Your dialogues, your way of saying, your leadership qualities and your friendship with the Professor stand outstanding. "We are all going to die. And I drink to that because we are still alive, Here's to life." Your perspective towards your life is the one that should be everyone's perspective in a peaceful world. Even after knowing that you will be dead in the next 3 years, you went for the heist proves your own sentence to the Professor, " If a painter told you he had three years left to aliv...

A Farewell to Irrfan Khan

Dear Irrfan,  I know that you were against the idea of idolizing actors and sportspersons and calling them heroes. So I'd like to apologize in advance because I'm just about to call you my hero . As a kid obsessed with Hindi cinema, watching your films for me used to be a gateway into a world that I was otherwise unfamiliar with. You are the man who redefined the world of movies and the art of acting for me. From 'Maqbool' , 'The Namesake' , to 'Paan Singh Tomar' , 'Life of Pi' and 'Piku' , your films have taught me countless lessons and consistently inspired me to be a better man. I am not sure if writing a letter to you this way is the correct thing to do, but I really don't know how else to express the grief I'm feeling now. I never had the honour to meet you in person, but your loss still feels as personal as humanly possible. Your last films 'Hindi Medium' and 'Angrezi Medium' both are masterpiece...

Love Me like You Do

30th January 2020, 2:38AM Sitting in the central library of IIT Delhi, a quiz is scheduled for tomorrow in Programming Languages. Although I haven't studied anything yet, still I couldn't concentrate on my mind. Today I found a cool song  "Love Me Like You Do"  when it buzzed in someone's mobile. It affected me so much as later I listened to this song, and tried to get the lyrics. After humming this song again and again, now I learned some lines. Here is my broken lyrics: You're the light, you're the night You're the color of my blood You're the cure, you're the pain You're the only thing I wanna touch Never knew that it could mean so much, so much You're the fear, I don't care 'Cause I've never been so high Follow me through the dark Let me take you past our satellites You can see the world you brought to life, to life So love me like you do, lo-lo-love me like you do Love me like you do, lo-lo-love me like you d...

Good Byee 2019

So it is the year ending time of 2019 so I am summarizing this year in a poem. Zindagi ka ek aur varsh kam ho chala, kuchh purani yaadien peechhe chhorh chala.. kuch khwaahishein dil me rah jati hai, kuch bin mange rah jati hai.. kuch chhorh kar chale jate hai, kuch naye judenge iss safar mein.. kuch mujhse bahot khafa hai, kuch mujhse bahot khush hai.. kuch mujhe mil ke bhul gye, kuch mujhe aaj bhi yaad krte hai.. kuch sayad anjaan hai, kuch bahot pareshaan hai.. kuch ko mera intzaar hai,  kuch ka mujhe intzaar hai.. kuch shi hai, kuch galat bhi hai.. kuch galati ho to maaf kijiye, kuch achha lge to yaad kijiye..   Let's start in 2020 with a new initiative by revising our goals, thinking about all the mistakes and try to improve all those. Wish you all a prosperous   Happy New Year

Lingos in IIT Delhi

Welcome to my 2nd blog . So I have been studying at IIT Delhi for one year. And I have experienced a lot and learned many different words which often came through a conversation with someone. So here are some of them: Fachcha/Fachchi: these words are used for freshers (first-year students) Prof: it is used for a professor. Tut: abbreviation for tutorial . A practice question sheet, given by professors. Topic-wise generally. Banda/Bandi: these two are simple Hindi words, in IIT Delhi, these two words keep a deep meaning. Banda is used for boyfriend as well as Bandi for girlfriend. (as you know it is a rare thing to have a Bandi in IITs.) Disco: a short form of Disciplinary committee . A meeting holds to take actions whenever someone breaks the college rules or does something which should not be done according to professors. Satti: it is used for grade ‘7’ in a course or semester. Chauki, Panji, Chhakki, atthi, nahli and dassi are also used for 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 an...
